Resignation of Wong Ah Choi, Birth Chinese Interpreter at the Magistracy, and leaving to my consideration the question of the refund of his half salary drawn by him during his absence from the Colony.
In reply I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that I and my Council are unanimously of opinion that under the circumstances mentioned by him, this Government may properly withdraw its claim to the half salary referred to.
