Second floor - 2 Wards for infections Cases.
Doubtless if an unlimited nursing Staff were available and if expense had not to be considered either in construction or maintenance the adoption of numerous small wards would enable a more perfect classification to be made; it is probable however that some such arrangement as that indicated represents the extent of progress in this direction which can be expected in Hong Kong for some time to come.
Details of a Ward Block - Assuming then a 26 bed Ward unit, Plan N°2 shows the detailed arrangements of a Ward block as shown in Plan N°11.
It consists of a ground and first floor, the whole well raised off the ground on a basement; over a portion of the block, a second floor gives accommodation for segregating infections cases.
