Slate Slabs. Provide and fix in lavatory two slate slabs, 19½" thick, of the width of lavatory and aft 3" wide : formed into walls in cement and sloping 1½" towards front edge. Semicircular slab of 1" rubbed. Slate commode to have one edge rounded and perforated for hair in hot water closet. Fronts of bath & c. to be lined with ½" rubbed slate slabs, screwed to framing with brass screws with countersunk holes : fronts to be in not more than 2 pieces.
92. Bath Front. The bath fronts & c. to have 1" rubbed slate bottom laid to slope, perforated and rebated for 2" waste : ¾" skirting 1'9" high and 1" finish side 6" high with rounded edge : to be joined together with white lead and made quite watertight.
93. Sinks. Provide and fix as proper C.I. brackets securely, clogged walls and the following sinks of stout white glazed stoneware, fitted with Tye and Andrews 3" sink traps : in each lady ward utility room, 3'x2', in other ward sluice rooms, in dispensary and post mortem room, sinks to have slate skirting 30"x16". 2 sinks in 8th Ward, Loled for traps as required.
94. Fittings. Provide and fix in house 2 sinks in the clear: one in wash house 2'6" x 1'6" x 2'2" deep, all 1" sawed slate, provided and put together with white lead and with ¾" galvanised round bolts, with screw nuts and washer below the perforated for 2" waste with waste plug complete. To be raised off floor.
