PARIS AIR DRAMA
BEAUTIFUL GIRL SHOOTS PILOT AND TAKES CONTROL
Paris, Dec. 21. The whole of France was intrigued by an extraordinery mid-air drama yesterday when a young engineer pilot named Lallemant was found. staggering around a field in the out- skirts of Paris with a bullet wound in the neck, asserting that a woman passenger had shot him in the back when he was piloting a 'plane 2,600 feet above Versailles.
He was able to land the plane in a field but his companian flourishing a revolver jumped into the cockpit and took off piloting the 'plane her- self,
He refused to give reasons for the shooting but the affair is generally attributed to a love dispute.
Meanwhile the plane, which car- ried petrol for 350 miles, was not located overnight, despite a vigilant watch at all aerodromes.
The mystery, however, was cleared up this morning with the news that the 'plane, piloted by -#-beautiful young French woman giving the name of Madame Schmeder Chapelut, crashed near a mill on a farma, af Selsey at dusk yesterday. She was uninjured except for cuts and shock. She said she had no idea, that she war over England Reuter's Special.
