24. Floor slabs - The floor of the Administrative block, kitchen, scullery, lavatory, and store rooms and wherever indicated on the plans by a light red link, the flooring of which is pointed in cement. The floor of coal stores to be formed of sand and grouted.
287 brick on edge, laid in Levis Lime white. - Twice lime white the internal walls of coal stores, outhouse, latrines, wash house and Laundry block, post-mortem room and dead house. The internal face of brickwork in these walls to be jointed with a flush joint.

27. Concrete Roofs and floors.
These roofs and floors were in full, but supervision will be required to be made during the "carrying out of the work" to detect any defects of construction shown on plans. They are to be formed of a combination of girders and joints of trolled iron and Portland Cement Concrete, and special attention is required to the use of cement of good quality and the proper mixing and laying of the concrete. The following directions on the fronts may be of service.
a. Tests for cement - The cement should be of thoroughly burnt English Portland ground finely enough for 80 percent to pass through a sieve of 2500 mesh; the cement should weigh not less than 110 lbs
