4. Frame. The whole of the foul drainage, shown by red dotted lines on Plan, is to be executed with glazed stoneware tubular drain pipes with socketed and spigot joints, footed on concrete, the faints being kept clean and flush with the inside : at intervals.
Boiler flue pipes or other similar pipe to be inserted so as to allow the drains to be examined without interfering with their continuity. All drains to be carefully and finally bedded, laid with proper falls and with all necessary bends, junctions, and the like. All soil pipes to be trapped at the point where they leave the buildings.
6 syphons, the Elbows and junctions with the main sewer to be well and carefully made (note ...). If the work is performed by Contract a special clause should be inserted with Tender etc. relating that the contractor shall give notice to the Superintending Officer when any (such as foundations etc.) is ready to be covered in, so that the Officer may satisfy himself that the work has been properly executed before filling in.
Only work to be done in this manner : in case of non-compliance with this clause, the Contractor should be bound to uncover the works at his own cost.
