A FINAL APPEAL

Christmas is approaching with its numerous calls for generosity, and it seems desirable to close the King George V. Memorial Fund before it becomes one of too many claims on our charity. therefore propose to close the subscription lists on.. Saturday, December 19th, and I ask every citizen of Victoria and Kowloon to put to himself the following questions:

(1) Have fully appreciated the nature of the Memorial, which is that- the thank-offerings of those who prospered under the late reign will be devoted to the recreation of poor people in crowded areas; so that Hongkong's monument to King George will not be a lifeless statue of him but a living and, permanent realisation of his desire for the health and happiness of his poorest subjects?

(2) Are the ninety thousand dollars that have already been raised the most that Hongkong can do?

(3) If not, con I add to the amount, even though my contribution be small?

(4)

·Or, having already given, can l give more?
