Value 465#'s the other also containing a prize lottery ticket value 500$ __ N. 1639, forwarded by Mr. H. Hian and Mr. Silva of Hong Kong to Messrs. Macleod Pickford & Co. and to Mr. Z. M. Meily of Manila were enclosed in the mail despatched from Hong Kong on the 18th of April, to Manila.

That in a reply from the postal Authorities of this place to those of Hong Kong dated the 20th of May 1874 it was set forth, that no letter Bill of the Mail of the 18th had been received at Manila.

That a duplicate copy of the letter bill sent with the mail of the 18th of April was duly furnished to the Postmaster General of Manila by the Postmaster of Hong Kong on the 27th of May last, in which were entered the two registered letters above mentioned.

4thly That in a letter of the 2nd of June 1874, written by the postmaster of Manila the receipt of the correspondence from Hong Kong, together with the letter Bill is admitted, but the receipt of the two missing registered letters is denied.

5thly That a declaration to the effect that these letters were inclosed in the mail of the 18th of July.
