NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE
MARKET IRREGULAR
YESTERDAY
New York, Nov. 18.
S. C. & F. Dow Jones summary of yesterday's markets:-The market to- day was irregular and erratle, Prices declined early In the session, but later rollied
under the leadership utilities, especially low-priced issues, with Industrials making the best re-
ย
coveries. Selling, however, ย resumed during the last few minutes of trading, some favourites being Bammered down. Steels are weaken- ing. Utilitles are slipping from their recent high levels. Mercantiles have recovered well. Olls met with some home selling. Avintions were active and firm. There was a sharp danund for sugar shares The Bonds Market and the Curb Exchange were both irregular.
S. C. & F. Wall Street Journal morning comment:-Business is be- coming spotted, although the strength of the commodity markets apparently indicates that the supply and demand situation is not yet favourable. Wall Street expects a liberal Montgomery Wartt dividend before the end of the yehr. Some brokers say that indus- trial leadership is not impressive. Bulis expect
Anaconda that the Copper Company will declare a 50- eent dividend. Increased' interest Is being shown in sugar shares.
