period the land forming the Range will be resumed by the Colonial Government for Building's or Garden

to the Troops, should this be so, the Range above referred to on M. & Lands at Victoria - also be given up,

19. Before therefore ceding the Harbour lands at Victoria on which lands the Rifle Range named above - it would seem
highly desirable that either one of the three following provisos should be
accepted by the Colonial Government

20. I quote them in the order of their desirability :
(a) the use of the present Rifle Range
at Kowloon to be secured to the Troops
as
long as any are here stationed.
(b) On the cession of the H.B. Lands
of
at Victoria, the Colonial Government
to provide a Rifle Range with Butts and firing points and with proper Roads of access - in a
suitable site
and as near as possible to the Cantonment, to the
satisfaction of the Senior or other Officer Commanding the Troops
(C) On the cession of the said lands the present Rifle Range
