The ball was heading straight for that spot where the cross-bar and upright meets and looked a goal all the way: but Rodger judged it perfectly and lempi across the goal to hold the ball with outstretched arms, One of the many highlights of the match.
Club Intermediates were grand workers, but they appeared to lose a bit of their equilibrium through the hot pace set by the opposition. Fowler was not quite nu stable and confident as we have seen him this season. Strange had the confidence, but made the foolish and funda- mental mistake of holding on to the ball too long. Rapid and accurate disposition of the ball was essen- tinl.

After this paint it was ding-dou yet it was noticeable that some of the Club players were tiring and slowly Ries obtained the upper hand. Rodger was kept very netive, and Club attacks became fewer and with less sting. After this Rifles did most of the dietatin, and in the last minutes were superior.
