In reply to your letter No.58 of the 24th ultimo, I am directed by the Colonel Commanding to state that with every desire to meet the wishes of His Excellency the Governor with regard to the formal transfer of the land in question to the Colonial Government, it is in his opinion requisite that explicit instructions should be received from the Secretary of State.
