As this park will be of sufficient breadth to form a distinctive and clearly defined line, and follows almost exactly the line that was originally marked off for the road, this Excellency proposes with the concurrence of the Senior Military Officer to let it serve ad interim as the line of demarcation between the Military and Crown Lands, in the same manner as the new road was intended. With this view His Excellency invites the Senior Military Officer to authorize the Commanding Royal Engineer to verify the line which has been cut by the Surveyor General. In His Excellency's opinion it would be well after this has been done to the satisfaction of all concerned, to have a plan made showing the run of the park, which might be signed by the Governor, the Commanding Royal Engineer and the Surveyor General, and serve as evidence of the agreement arrived at.
It is hoped that this park is only preliminary to the road itself, but pending that undertaking, this Excellency thinks that should the Senior Military Officer be agreeable to this arrangement, it might be manageable.
