THE establishment of a national “anti-crime college” in FOOCHOW London is foreshadowed by the report of the Advisory MBUNG Committee on the Scientific Investigation of Crime,HARDIN published recently.

HONAKEW

KONF

It is recommended that a Medico-Legal Institute should be set up under the Faculty of Medicine of London | ROWLOON University.

Here medical students would be given, post-graduate courses in forensic medicinę,

Instruction would also be given to law students, police surgeons aml-coroners.

The extent to which the proposed institute could participate in the instruction of under-graduates should be explored, it is suggested,

Centre of Research

The institute should, the committed states, be equipped to undertake routine work and should have ample opportunities to

conduct post-mortem examinations, It would also become a centre for medico-legal research.

The committee, which was asked how the Metropolitan Police Laboratory at Hendon could best be developed in the national interests, recommended in an interim report in Novem- ber, that the scientific staff should be augmented.

In this further report it is stated that the laboratory itas been established on sound lines, and that the organisation within the police service of a comprehensive laboratory system to bring the resources of science to bear upon the investigation of crime is a development of immense value which should be pressed forward without delay,

Discussing the more general aspects of medico-legal work,
