TIBET'S SPIRITUAL RULER INFORMED
Nanking, Sept. 4. Confusion reigns regarding the alleged discovery of a reincarnation of the Dalai Lami, who died in Tibet in 1033.
The Nanking representative of the Panchen Lama, who is the spiritual ruler of Tibet and who is now making a slow journey towards his home after several years' residence in China pro- per, announced to-day:
"The Dalai Lama was reincarnated at. Kokonor seven or eight months ago, according to a report received by the Panchen Lama, although official information is lacking."
On the other hand the local repre- sentative of the Tibetan Government denies all reports of the reincarnation.

The British Walker Cup golf team went to pieces in the final stages of the competition to-day, and, losing seven out of the eight singles, lost the series for the ninth successiva time by 10% to 1% games.
Although favoured by something like English condi- -Bentley had tions, the British players were overwhelmed. the greatest chance of victory when he was leading by one hole at the 85th, and on the 36th failed by inches to sink a 35 foot putt for the match.
