It is further to be remarked that whilst the description of the boundaries is dated the 16th September, the recorded plan of those Boundaries, signed both by the Governor and Military Authorities, and which shows no 500 feet contour as a boundary, but simply the still existing boundary stones, is dated more than a month subsequently, viz: the 19th October.
The natural inference therefore is that even if the Commanding Royal Engineer supposed he was correct in defining the boundaries agreed to by the Governor on the 15th September, such illusion was entirely dispelled by the subsequent complete record signed by both parties on the 19th October.
10. That the latter was really the true accord, as it is the only legally binding Record, may well be inferred from the fact that in 1885, only six years subsequently and when all the above facts were comparatively fresh, the "Respective Officers
