has been given to the Boundaries being defined as therein suggested.

Therefore the Plan is the only document which defines the Boundaries and it is admitted that the Plan was drawn up by the Military Authorities in communication with this Government, as it is signed by the Governor, The Commanding Royal Engineer, and the Surveyor General.

6. On reference thereto it appears, that a Boundary Stone marked B forms the South West Boundary of Cantonments while another Stone Marked A forms the South East Boundary, but no line has been fixed as the Boundary between them.

7. It is desirable obviously that such a matter should not be left in abeyance any longer, and I suggest that the Road which it is proposed to construct next year between Garden Road and the Eastern Shore (a sum for the construction of which was included in the Estimates for 1867) should form a most suitable line for this purpose.

The Course which the Road will follow is shown in red on the tracing forwarded. It leaves Garden Road at a height of 193 feet above High Water mark.
