assistance, which is required on these occasions, they should do so through the Colonial Secretary who would then direct the Police accordingly.

The necessity for this routine has been fully exemplified on the
last occasion in
occasion on which the War
Department Lands
were
perambulated, and it is strange under the circumstance that if for the last two
Colonel Moggridge appears
to have
neglected to take this precaution and has applied to the Police direct; the question did not-

instead of as heretofore
through
the
Colonial Secretary
