Revenue Offeer P. J. O'Neill stated that be curried out a raid on the ground floor of No. 181 Cheung Sha Won Road, at

atam, yesterday. The pills were found on the premises, and Arst defendant claimed they be longed to her husband, Second de- fendant was the mother of the first. First defendant refused to tell the Revenue Officers where her husband was. The place was a small pill foetory, n machine and ingredients for making the pills being niso founil.

First defendant said she did not She know anything about the pills. said she was

pregnant, and had asked her mother to come down from Canton, to look after her dur- ing her coming confinement.

Second accused said she merely came on the request of her daughter.

There was no evidence against,; second defendant except that she' was found in the place where the plits were, said R. O. O'Neill. First defendant had told lies to him. She had first said her husband was a searoan, but the principal tenant of the floor had told him that the man was a house-boy, and came home regularly every day. Two men had been set to watch, for him yesterday, but the man falled to put in an appearance, added R. O. O'Neill,

Second accused was discharged. and first defendant was remanded for one week to undergo medica! examination.

ANOTHER CASE Wong Sung was caught in Con- naught Road yesterday afternoon with 260 heroin pills in his possession, and was brought before Mr. S. F. Balfour this morning at the Central Magis- tracy,, lle stated that he was merely carrying them to a boat for a friend of his, and that he was arrested while he was doing this favour for his friend,
