BOARD OF TRADE MAKES INQUIRY
Londin, Aug. 12
The report WIS issued this evening of the committee appointed i by the Board of Trade "to, inquire into fixed trusts in all their aspects Bank and to report what action, if any, is considered desirable in the public interest."
The Committee takes exception to the term "Fixed," and among its recommendations is the prohibition of that term in the title of future rules. The Committee Itself' uses the term "Unk trusts".
The Committee makes detailed re-
commendations for meeting dangers and satisfying criticisms of the unit trust movement which, arise in s report. Of its 35 recommendations, some call for legislation by Parlia ment, some for action by the Stockt Exchanges, and some for interrial regulations by the promoters others acting in association.
MAIN CONCLUSIONS Among the most important of the committee's conclusion Are commendations:
and
70.
First, that every unit trust should be registered in a manner analogous to company registration, and that a certificate of registration should be necessary before units ar nub-units are offered for sale:
Second, that the management of unit trusts should be undertaken only by bodies incorporated in the United Kingdom;
Think, that the managers of mit trusts should make a deposit with the Paymaster General of a substantial. suru-~£20,000 is suggested--in

Mr. Remedios submitted that the arbitration was not an attempt to bust the jurisdiction of the Court.
