We can hardly send this to the Treasury without that, it would be well if possible to come to some understanding with the Treasury on the subject before they deal with the application of the Chartered Mercantile Bank.
I am not surprised at the Bank claiming the privilege which has been granted to their competitor; but I think you will find in 1873 or 1874 (vide 1390) we threatened to withdraw the concession from the H. 41. Bank and the Banks joined.
