that he has withdrawn in
opinion
shown are the reasons why the cave should
be reopened.
It would
indeed be impossible, after what has happened,
to allow him to retain
his connection with
a
scholastic establishment,
for the reputation of
which the government is more or less responsible. But having regard to the character of the evidence against
him in reference
to the actual
charge on which he was
suspended, it may
be thought worthy of
consideration
whether you may
find for him some
other appointment not
connected with the
education of youth,
and
thereby allow him to
escape the
consequences
of an absolute dismissal
from the public service.
