The Committee also heard a state- ment by Paul Valery, Chairman of the Permanent Committee of Arts and Letters the conversation in June nt Budapest on the "Role of humani ties in training of modern man.” The Committee was gind to learn of the widespread interest taken in the conversations and expressed the best wishes and success of those to be held at the International University nt Santander on the "Future of scientifle research and of science in modern societies and its role in the life of community," and at Buenos Alres under, auspices of the Argentine Pen Club on the "Intellectual relations between America and Europe."
The Committee also favoured the
