Taking into consideration Mr Gerrard's long work which will be entailed upon him by the Births and Death, and Marriage service and the increased work under the new Ordinances, I would beg to recommend that his salary be increased by one hundred pounds a year.
These Ordinances require very careful and accurate work and therefore I do not consider the amount which I have suggested as too much remuneration in this particular case.
Mr Gerrard has been 16 years in the Service and is at present in receipt of £400 a year as first Clerk.
