I knew him. That he had never been laxed by anyone with palming M debts on other people, and that I is William Wiseman had once mentioned it to him as a mistake. The same was true with reference to his Shenandchit had been wrongly presented, while with regard to Mr Travers he could not state positively whether that gentleman had gone to the house with him or not when he went to pay the debt, but he was certain that Mr Travers had never accused him of personating him.

He then having interrogated his Maxwell as to whether the unknown person on that occasion could have been Sir William Wiseman and having received an answer in the negative, and having elicited from Mr Travers that he did accompany Mr Heath to the house when he went to pay the debt.

The Council at 1.30 pm till Noon on Thursday next.
