A European went to see Miss Maxwell and incurred a debt either for wine or accommodation.
On leaving, he gave a name which was not his own. Miss Maxwell, on applying to the gentleman whose name was falsely given for payment, was told that he had never been to her house.
From further enquiries made by Miss Maxwell and this gentleman, the imposture was discovered.
