Interpreter in that Colony. I was successful in obtaining that position by competitive Examination in March 1862.
In March 1865 I passed as Interpreter, in Chinese.
In June 1865 I was appointed Acting Registrar General.
In October 1866 I was nominated Acting Captain Superintendent of Police, and I was confirmed in that office July 1868, which I have now held for about nine years and a half.
