Government Authorises Big British Company To Commence Work In New Territories

It is likely that before the end of the year mining operations in the New Territories will be commenced on a large scale.
I have learned, from what I believe to be an authori- tative source, that as a result of a geological study in the Shing Mun area, mining experts have expressed the belief that a valuable wolfram deposit exists in the vicinity of Needle Hill.
Various proposals for the development of this deposit were submitted and understand that Government has recently re- cepted a proposal put forward by Messrs. Marsman & Co., Inc... of London and Manila, a specialist firm experience in Manila and elsewhere.
