"He told me some years ago he was a successful Acenic

artist in London.

"He fell in love with a leading Indy--a

famous actress. He stood the wings-worshipping

admiring-loving...............

Insistence on individual expression and the desire for credit for every little bit of enterprise was a source of much trouble in a large industrinl organisation, he said. More credit should be given to those who could use the qualities of their subordin ates by co-ordinating thera into a well-conceived plan.

"Is the attitude of attempting to take credit to oneself for other peo- ple's work mentally honest?" he ask- ed. "This attitude is often developed by heads of organisations. The pro- blem extends far beyond the factory

TRANSFER OF WORKERS

Dr. Miles said that other problems facing industry included the need fo more scientific knowledge of the workers mental and physical charac teristics. Many breakdowns und nervous disorders could be traced to workers being frustrated in activities which they found little time to develop.

By using modern technique it was possible to arrange for much more effective transfer of workers from one job to another, either on a national scale or within firms. Financial Juss and unnecessary hardship could be had prevented where a firm
