New Calendar Of 13 Months, 364 Days Urged
SYSTEM BASED ON "BIBLE" PLAN AND ASTRONOMY, OHIOAN
EXPLAINS
Dover, Ohio, Apr. 28.
A 13-month calendar of 364 days, with Monday the first day of the week and Sunday the seventh, is proposed by J. A. Wel- ton, a man with an abiding faith in the Bible.
Welton read so much of cal-| endar reform that he decided to devise one of his own. He be lieves that, despite opposition in high quarters, the 18-month calendar is preferable over the 12-month calendar, and after months of hard work in his plumbling shop, he has produced what he thinks is the "ideal."
The Welton calendar has 13 months of
four weeks cach, 28 days a month and 464 days a year, Sunday, Welton auid, is the day of rest, and should be observed na such, always coming on the same date. So he made, it the seventh day of his week.
Extra Weck Added
Every seventh year, an extra week would be added to the extra months, which is called Ruth, after the gleaner of the Bible.
"My calendar," said Welton, "is nare advantageons to business and would work out more accurately according to astronomy than the present system. In colucides with the 28 day cycle of the sun and with the cycles of the moon."
Welton nomits it will be a diflcult task to have his calendar adopted.
