A strongly worded note. hus been delivered by the Britishi Ambassador at Rome, Sir! Eric Drummond, to the Italian Government, dealing with thei numerous Air altacks upon British Red Cross Ambulance units hr Ethiopia. The text of the note was disclosed here to- day.
The communication deals particu: larly with the attacks on the British unit at Quermin on four successive days in March.
Sir Eric absolutely denied the Italian allegation that the war platea bombed the ambalance as a reprisal against Red Cross ambulance workers who allegedly fired on Italian bombing planer.
The note any that the British Government, after a full investigation, canust accept the Italian version of the facts, and declares that the prin cipal medical officer's report leaves no doubt regarding the deliberateness of
the attacks.

RECOGNISING THIS FAILURE, THE COM- MITTEE WILL RETURN ITS MANDATE TO THE LEAGUE COUNCIL.
