In reality (and most likely the camera would have showed it had it clicked any other time), the King was the cynosure of all eyes as he paid an unexpected visit to St. David's Day ceremony Hallows, Tower Hill; London, to celebrate the coming of age of the Welsh Guards. This regiment was raised in 1915: The hauled out leeks to the officers in the Tower of London as part of the ceremony.
