"the interpreters" question for St. K. & the Straits As to the Police I think we may approve the appointment of Inspector Ansport as Chief Inspector with this small addition to his salary of about £100 a-year. but on condition that the Salary of an Assistant Superintendent be met off the Estimates - It is now years since this appointment was vacant when Mr I. Rice left the Colony, this being the time we heard that he was in negotiation with a friend on the West Coast, & I dislike
