NO GREAT LOSS
Addis Ababa, Feb: 18.
The Ethiopian version of the battle south of Makale, where the Italians claim to have advanced many miles and to have inflicted terrific casualties upon the defending armies, is a complete contradiction of Marshal Badoglio's reports of the action in every important detail. The Italians, declures an official; Ethiopian statement, advanced only five kilometres south of Makale, and
at a cost of 160 white troops and 200 Askaris killed
The Ethiopian losses were 31 kill ed, but this total included two of their ablest leaders.
