When the motorcycle of Kenneth Lewis, a young aircraftsman, broke down at Brondstairs, he saw a young lady chugg alongside on her own motorcycle and offer to help him. They became friendly and she introduced him to Dr. Herman Gortz, who, she said, was her uncle.
