Great are the military preparations in Egypt and Libya as Britain rushes defences against possible attack from Italy's colony of Libya. THE ITALIAN ATTACK ON MAKALE
Remarkable photograph received on Saturday from the northern front in Abyssinia showing Italian urtillery bombarding Makale. This is the town which the Italians recently captured and shows the dust and smoke clouds, caused by bursting shells, rising near the adjoining "pyramid" mountain. Besides illustrating the type of country they are encountering, the picture is notable as being the first to give a broad general view of the Italian guns in action. In the foreground is an ammuni- tien nude train.
