I have to submit for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon the subjoined copy of a communication which we have this day received intimating that a civil war in China is considered to be imminent. The information appears to have come by telegram from Shanghae, but we do not know who has sent it unless the Oriental Telegraph Company on whose paper it is written; the envelope is addressed to us.
