With reference to your letter dated 21st October 1875 forwarding a despatch from the Officer Administering the Government of Hong Kong enclosing correspondence with the General Officer Commanding respecting the resumption by the Colonial Government of certain of the Military Reserves in the Colony; I am directed to request you, for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon, that the sites at Shau Kei Wan and Sai Kung, referred to, are considered highly favourable for Telegraph Stations: and further, that the site at Stanley is the only ground available.
