In the absence of any information from the Australian Colonies Lord Carnarvon is unable to give a definitive reply to your letter but his Lordship will communicate with the Governors of those Colonies on the subject.
Good deal to report that Sir H. Parker is of Opinion that in the meantime the Colonies should be instructed to afford no encouragement or facilities for the proposed scheme.
