Three motor accidents, and one fatal tranicar accident wore ported to the police yesterday.
Young Shek, driver of tramcar No. 18, reported that while driving in Johnstone Road yesterday he knocked down a woman, Yan Szo, aged 60 years, who ran in front of the train. The woman received serious head, Injuries, to which she succumbest at the Government Civil Hospital.
Mr. F. Grose, driver of private ear No. 3504,' has reported that while driving In Hennessy Road a little after midnight he knocked down a Chinese, whose name is not known. The man received severe head injurles, and was ad- mitted to the Government Civil Hospital. Mr. W; C. F. Jenner. driver of private ear No. 9774. reports that while driving in Queen's Road East, yesterday, he knocked down a man, Tam Puš, aged 55 years, who run in front of the car. The man received slight injuries, and was not detained on being sent to the Government Civil Hospital.
Mr. Morgan, driver of private car No. 2864, reports that while driving in Nathan Road about midnight yesterday, he collided with the traffic island opposite the Alhambra Theatre.

Despite adverse weather conditions which prevailed almost throughout the trip the salvage venture proved successful, and yesterday the Yushu Maru arrived in Hongkong with her prize in tow.

SEVERAL CASES IN COURT

F. L. Parton, driver of eyele No. 68, was fined $10 by Mr. [KV. Schofield, at the Central Magistracy this morning, on Д Hummons for driving in Main Street, Shuukiwan West, which is closed to motor traffic, without permission from the I. G. P., on September 19 at 8.20 p.m.

on several previous occasions, and also with never the Flying Squad, but had seen the sign, which was placed In a not too conspicuous position, and hardly noticeable at night.
C. Bitzer, driver of private car No. 372, was fined $15 for over- taking and passing two lorries and a car on a bend in Pokfulum Road near Jłok Szc Terrace on September 11.
Traffic Sergeant Youe said de fendant commenced to overtake the other vehicles on w left hand bend and finished on a right hand bend. It was such a sharp bend that the driver's vision would have been limited to only shout 16 yards.
KOWLOON CASES
Among the traffic offenders summoned before Mr. Thomson at the Kowloon Magistracy this morning, was 24 Chinese lady motorist who lint two counts to answer. She was auamoned na the result of an accident in which a Chinese woman, who was pre- sumably waiting for a bus, was erushed and a cyclist was knocked down in Waterloo Rand.
The summonses against the de- fendant. Miss Gortio Chan, of No. 161 Waterloo Road, Kowloon Tong, were (a).driving private car No.. 1098 without due care and caution at Waterton Road near Essex Crescent on September 9 and (b) failing to have two independent and efficient brakes,
Mr. C. Y. Kwan appeared for the defendant, while Mr. S. Ng Quinn held a watching brief over the proceedings on behalf of the woman Mra. Yeung Yee, who, was knocked down. Mr. Quinn in- formed the Court that the woman was still in hospital.
Traffic-Inspector A. Nicol, in outlining the case, stated' that private car No. 1093 was being driven down Waterloo Road to- wards Prince Edward Road at 4 p.m. on September 9 by defendant, It was alleged that defendant overtook bus No. 119 and cut in front of bus No. 109, which was coming towards Kowloon Tong Defendant's car awerved round and crushed a woman who was standing at the bus stop, and also knocked down a cyclist.
The case was remanded until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday next.
As the result of the previous case, Chun Nai-pan, the owner of the private car No. 1093, appeared to answer a summons for failing to have his car, equipped with two independient and efficient brakes, Mr. C. Y. Kwan appeared for the defence.
