morning, the appellant being so lu, a fisherman of Castle Peak dtrict. The appeal was dir- missed.

Mr. Hin-shing Lo, instructed by Mr. F. 1. Zimmers, appeared for the appellant, and the Crown was not represented,

It was explained that the ap- pellant pleaded guilty before the Taipo Magistrate in the District Offico North

<n July 17 to a charge of the possession of an automatic 32 calibre and 23 rounds of ammunition without a licence from the Inspector General of Police at Tsang Tauf War, and was sentenced to one year's hard tabatur.

plied for rehearing of the ease with a view to mitigation of the sentenee passed.

The ease was reheard on July 26, when evidence of character was heard and the police called evidence in rebuttal

The Magistrate confirmed the previous sentence, whereupon the accused gave notice of appeal.
