Big R.A.F. Order For New Bomber

The Air-Ministry has given-a- big order for a new type of light bomber, of which the prototype has proved capable of a speed of about 275 m.p.h.
Single-seat fighters of about the same speed, but with re- markable performance all round, are nearing the trial stage.
The origin of this light bomber a twin-engine commercial mono- British firm's plan plane-was a to test the now sleeve-valve type of engine.
This engine is the object of world-wide attention because of its assurance of increased perfor munce, greater economy, and less noise. The machine itself em-; bodied important improvements in design and construction.
