Geneva, Sept. 5.
M. Maxim Litvinoff, the Russian Commissar for Foreign Affairs, made his country's attitude known officially at the League Council meeting to-night. The Italian representative, said M. Litvinoff, in effect had invited the League Council to declare its dis- interestedness in the Italo-Ethiopian dispute and leave Rome freedom of action.
This was surely an invitation to the League Council members to repudiate their own international obliga- tions, M. Litvinoff observed.
