QUANTITY DOES NOT EXIST !

Every merchant buys his stocks in terms of number, weight or measurement.

One cannot imagine, for example, a mer- chant buying a hundred dollars' worth of golf balls without knowing exactly how many he would receive !

The terms of quantity in newspaper circu- lation are calculated by Chartered

Accountants who prepare reports showing the exact number of copies sold per

annum..

TIN PRICES

SUDDEN RISE OF CASH..

QUOTATION

London, July 22. Bewilderment prevalled on the metal exchange this morning when the price of cash tin rose to £9 with a backwardation increasing to over £20. ·

This appears a further example of the artificiality of operationa owing to the apparent unwilling- ness of the Buffer Pool to release supplies, which are already ex- tremely low.

To-day's demand was in no way above the usual, but there was à complete absence of sellers at the cash position, and it is feared that under these conditions prices for rash may rise still further during the course of the next few days.-- Router.
