Details of the attack by Masui warriors on the camp of Mr. Bux- ton, District Commissioner, last month, were revealed at the inquest on two natives who were killed in repulsing the attack.
A dramatic statement was made ' by a wounded Masni, who stated that the attackers intended to kill everyone in the camp wearing clothes. He added that they would have succeeded but for the fact that Mr Buxton's small force was armed with rifles.
Graphically describing the attack. this witness said his party only Bred after the Masais disobeyed two warnings. He was unaware of any grievance on the part of the at- tuckers, but he blamed a ceremony from which the men had just emerged for their frenzied condi- tion.

London, July 22. The Anglo-German naval agreement was severely criticised by speakers of all parties in the House of. Commons to-day. The Labour member, Mr. George Hall, complained of the Government's inconsistency for condemning Germany for repudiating the armaments/ provisions of the Treaty of Versailles and, in the next breath, concluding an agreement for the increase of German naval strength which in itself was a violation of treaties to which Britain was a signatory.
Vice-Admiral G. Campbell, V.C., Nationalist member and famous commander of "Q" boats in the War, who was given credit for breaking the German submarine blockade effectively ant finally, said the agreement gave Germany a brand new navy whereas much of the British tonnage was verging on the obsolete.
Mr. David Lloyd George, former Liberal Prime Minister, expressed dismay at the light-hearted way the Government not merely condoned the number of submarines at present existing in Germany's yards, but arranged for the building of many more.
