MARKET UPWARD

YESTERDAY

New York July 17. The following reports on the Now York Stock market have been received through Messrs. Swan, Culbertson & Fritz:

The Wall Street Journal report on yesterday's market:Stocks to-day were upward, led by automobile equip- ment shares, dao to favourable earn- ings reports, especially those of the Motor Products Company, which for the past six months have trebled those of the corresponding period of last year. Packings gained some strength, due to the Boston Cireult Court's de- cision that the Processing, taxes wyre Megni.

Bonds and also stocks on the Curb Exchange were also upward.

S. C & F. New York office cables: The market has continued strong, with store, mall order and farm im plement issues responding to the strongth of wheat. Average daily production of petroleum for the week ending July 13 was extimated at 2,715,000 barrels compared with 2,077,- 000 barrels the previous week.

The Edison Electric Institute estimustes

weekly electricity production at 1,760,- 000,000 k.w.b., an increase of 7.2 par cent. ver the corresponding period of
