The Postmaster General has had under

consideration last, inclosing a

Colonial Office,
a
letter of the 6th hov despatch from the Netherlands
also a letter from the
on the subject of the Postal
Service between Hong Kong and the
Netherlands Possessions
in the East Indies.
Previous to the receipt of your
letter
the
question of improving the Postal relations between the British East Indies & the
Netherlands Possessions
in India, by
means
of
an exchange of closed mails, had been raised modification of the by the Indian Gov
a
rate chargeable for British sea-portage
on
the correspondence contained in such closed mail, when forwarded by British Packet, had been recommended by the Postmaster General to the favourable consideration of the Treasury.
