The belief that the Anglo-German agreement on naval strength will constitute the beginning of a practical peace policy, was expressed by Herr Joachim von Ribbentrop, the chief German delegate to the London conference, when interviewed by Renter's diplomatic correspondent just before he left for Ger- many to-day.
The naval talks had just been concluded when Herr von Ribbentrop was approached. He said that despite the years of effort this agreement was the first step
towards limitation of armaments.
He believed that Europe had, hitherto made the mistake of trying to settle all the problems of all powers simultaneously.
