Lawson Little, U.S.A., the holder, ran into his best form here yesterday in beating Eric Martin Smith, who won the title in 1931. However, there was a full pro- gramme of Axtures played in the National championship, in which the Boston Braves won a double header from the Cincinnati Reds.
