Representative Martin Dies, Democrat of Texas, it was learned to-day, is planning to confer with Pre- sident Roosevelt and the Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Henry Morgenthau, as soon as possible. The object of the conference will be to make an effort to obtain the immediate suspension of the United States silver purchasing policy and to substitute it with a plan of outright barter.
